Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a deep slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 84% against the previous year. The exports peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, furnace burner exports declined to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, saw a abrupt descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when exports increased by 115%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
Kazakhstan (X tons) was the main destination for furnace burner exports from Russia, with a 59% share of total exports. Moreover, furnace burner exports to Kazakhstan exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Ukraine (X tons), fourfold. Uzbekistan (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with an 8.9% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to Kazakhstan stood at -1.7%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Ukraine (-8.7% per year) and Uzbekistan (+8.9% per year).
In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) remains the key foreign market for furnace burners, mechanical stokers, mechanical grates and mechanical ash dischargers exports from Russia, comprising 52% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Belarus ($X), with a 15% share of total exports. It was followed by Ukraine, with a 10% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Kazakhstan totaled -2.4%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Belarus (+10.6% per year) and Ukraine (-14.5% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the average furnace burner export price amounted to $X per ton, shrinking by -20% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a slight contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the average export price increased by 109% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2020 to 2021, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Belarus ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Ukraine ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Bulgaria (+19.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into the Russian Federation
In 2021, purchases abroad of furnace burners, mechanical stokers, mechanical grates and mechanical ash dischargers was finally on the rise to reach X tons for the first time since 2017, thus ending a three-year declining trend. In general, imports saw measured growth. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, furnace burner imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a temperate expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.0% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +84.9% against 2019 indices. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
Germany (X tons), Italy (X tons) and Turkey (X tons) were the main suppliers of furnace burner imports to Russia, with a combined 77% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Lithuania, China, Austria, Finland and the United States, which together accounted for a further 17%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Lithuania (with a CAGR of +102.2%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest furnace burner suppliers to Russia were Germany ($X), Italy ($X) and Turkey ($X), with a combined 76% share of total imports. Lithuania, Finland, China, Austria and the United States lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 12%.
In terms of the main suppliers, Lithuania, with a CAGR of +88.6%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the average furnace burner import price amounted to $X per ton, falling by -13.9% against the previous year. In general, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 an increase of 8.5% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per ton), while the price for China ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
