In value terms, glass fibre mat exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate slight growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when exports increased by 56% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Poland (X tons), Kazakhstan (X tons) and Belarus (X tons) were the main destinations of glass fibre mat exports from Russia, with a combined 56% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Poland (with a CAGR of +96.9%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Poland ($X), Kazakhstan ($X) and Belarus ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for glass fibre mat exported from Russia worldwide, with a combined 58% share of total exports.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Romania ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Over the period under review, imports recorded a pronounced downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 53%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, glass fibre mat imports fell markedly to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, showed slight growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 126% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then reduced rapidly in the following year.

China (X tons) and Turkey (X tons) were the main suppliers of glass fibre mat imports to Russia.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Turkey (with a CAGR of -2.3%).

In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of glass fibre mats to Russia, comprising 73% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Turkey ($X), with a 27% share of total imports.
