The Russian fruit-preparation industrial machinery market rose significantly to $X in 2021, increasing by 11% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X units in 2020, and then reduced in the following year.

In value terms, fruit-preparation industrial machinery exports declined markedly to $X in 2021. In general, exports, however, posted a buoyant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 297%. The exports peaked at $X in 2020, and then fell rapidly in the following year.

Exports by Country

Kazakhstan (X units) was the main destination for fruit-preparation industrial machinery exports from Russia, with a 52% share of total exports. Moreover, fruit-preparation industrial machinery exports to Kazakhstan exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Belarus (X units), twofold. Kyrgyzstan (X units) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 7.4% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to Kazakhstan totaled +38.1%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Belarus (+38.3% per year) and Kyrgyzstan (+71.3% per year).

In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) remains the key foreign market for industrial machinery for the preparation of fruits, nuts or vegetables exports from Russia, comprising 44% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Belarus ($X), with a 21% share of total exports. It was followed by Uzbekistan, with a 9.4% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to Kazakhstan amounted to +23.6%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Belarus (+26.8% per year) and Uzbekistan (+27.8% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The average fruit-preparation industrial machinery export price stood at $X per unit in 2021, with a decrease of -24.3% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a drastic downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 107% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2014 to 2021, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2021, approx. X units of industrial machinery for the preparation of fruits, nuts or vegetables were imported into Russia; growing by 8.3% compared with 2020 figures. In general, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 38% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, fruit-preparation industrial machinery imports reached $X in 2021.
