In 2021, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of industrial monocarboxylic fatty acids, when their volume decreased by -14.1% to X tons. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a perceptible expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of 66%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2020, and then reduced in the following year.
In value terms, industrial monocarboxylic fatty acids imports surged to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, showed buoyant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 73%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
