The Russian non-medical x-ray market skyrocketed to $X in 2021, with an increase of 17% against the previous year. This figure reflects the total revenues of producers and importers (excluding logistics costs, retail marketing costs, and retailers' margins, which will be included in the final consumer price). From 2015 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, non-medical x-ray exports fell slightly to $X in 2021. Overall, exports posted a remarkable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when exports increased by 103% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

South Africa (X tons), Angola (X tons) and Kazakhstan (X tons) were the main destinations of non-medical x-ray exports from Russia, with a combined 75% share of total exports. Belarus, Mongolia, China and Germany lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 16%.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Mongolia (with a CAGR of +105.5%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a perceptible slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 66% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2020 to 2021, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, non-medical x-ray imports soared to $X in 2021. In general, total imports indicated a modest expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +1.5% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +127.1% against 2016 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 56% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.

Germany (X tons), China (X tons) and Malaysia (X tons) were the main suppliers of non-medical x-ray imports to Russia, together comprising 59% of total imports. These countries were followed by the United States, the UK, Belarus, France, Japan, the Czech Republic, Italy and South Korea, which together accounted for a further 36%.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for the Czech Republic (with a CAGR of +171.5%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Germany ($X), the United States ($X) and China ($X) appeared to be the largest non-medical x-ray suppliers to Russia, with a combined 58% share of total imports. These countries were followed by the UK, Japan, the Czech Republic, Malaysia, France, Italy, South Korea and Belarus, which together accounted for a further 31%.

In 2021, the average non-medical x-ray import price amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 42% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a strong expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when the average import price increased by 48%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per ton), while the price for Belarus ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belarus (+16.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
