Particle Board Market Size in the Russian Federation
The Russian particle board market reduced to $X in 2022, almost unchanged from the previous year. Over the period under review, consumption, however, recorded a abrupt downturn. In 2022, approx. X cubic meters of particle board were exported from Russia; waning by -3.2% compared with 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a buoyant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when exports increased by 84% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X cubic meters in 2021, and then dropped in the following year.
In value terms, particle board exports fell dramatically to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, enjoyed a prominent expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 104%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X, and then reduced rapidly in the following year.
Exports by Country
Kazakhstan (X cubic meters), Uzbekistan (X cubic meters) and Poland (X cubic meters) were the main destinations of particle board exports from Russia, together accounting for 49% of total exports. Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, the United States, Belarus, Azerbaijan, China, Lithuania, Sweden and Mongolia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 41%.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by the United States (with a CAGR of +167.7%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X), Uzbekistan ($X) and the United States ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for particle board exported from Russia worldwide, with a combined 46% share of total exports.
The United States, with a CAGR of +198.1%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the average particle board export price amounted to $X per cubic meter, waning by -23% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a perceptible slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 53% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per cubic meter, and then fell rapidly in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to Lithuania ($X per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+11.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports into the Russian Federation
In 2022, the amount of particle board imported into Russia surged to X cubic meters, jumping by 19% against the previous year's figure. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 30% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X cubic meters in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, particle board imports reduced to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, showed a deep downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when imports increased by 28% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Belarus (X cubic meters) constituted the largest particle board supplier to Russia, with a 87% share of total imports. Moreover, particle board imports from Belarus exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Poland (X cubic meters), more than tenfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by France (X cubic meters), with a 3% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from Belarus amounted to +24.9%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Poland (-15.0% per year) and France (+8.7% per year).
In value terms, Belarus ($X) constituted the largest supplier of particle board to Russia, comprising 76% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by France ($X), with a 7.7% share of total imports. It was followed by Poland, with a 6.9% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Belarus amounted to +24.2%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: France (+12.4% per year) and Poland (-14.5% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the average particle board import price amounted to $X per cubic meter, reducing by -20.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a noticeable downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 an increase of 55% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per cubic meter in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was France ($X per cubic meter), while the price for China ($X per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Canada (+23.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
