Ukraine (X tons), Belarus (X tons) and Kazakhstan (X tons) were the main destinations of phenolic resins exports from Russia, with a combined 86% share of total exports. These countries were followed by the Netherlands, Uzbekistan and Estonia, which together accounted for a further 12%.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In 2021, purchases abroad of phenolic resins in primary forms increased by 39% to X tons, rising for the fifth year in a row after three years of decline. Over the period under review, imports showed a remarkable increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 with an increase of 154% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

The average phenolic resins import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, surging by 2.1% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, showed a deep reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 an increase of 10%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
