Tajikistan (X tons) was the main destination for pineapple exports from Russia, with a 62% share of total exports. Moreover, pineapple exports to Tajikistan exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Ukraine (X tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was held by Mongolia (X tons), with an 11% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Tajikistan amounted to +35.2%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Ukraine (+248.0% per year) and Mongolia (+49.9% per year).
In value terms, Tajikistan ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for pineapples exports from Russia, comprising 48% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Ukraine ($X), with a 24% share of total exports. It was followed by Mongolia, with a 17% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Tajikistan amounted to +25.8%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Ukraine (+203.9% per year) and Mongolia (+38.6% per year).

In 2022, the average pineapple export price amounted to $X per ton, with a decrease of -3.6% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a abrupt downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 an increase of 5.1% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2016 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

Imports into the Russian Federation
In 2022, the amount of pineapples imported into Russia fell to X tons, with a decrease of -4.2% against the year before. Overall, total imports indicated a measured increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports decreased by -14.6% against 2019 indices. Imports by Country
In 2022, the Netherlands (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of pineapple to Russia, accounting for a 33% share of total imports. Moreover, pineapple imports from the Netherlands exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, China (X tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Belgium (X tons), with a 3.6% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from the Netherlands totaled +21.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: China (+15.9% per year) and Belgium (+16.8% per year).
In value terms, the Netherlands ($X) constituted the largest supplier of pineapples to Russia, comprising 33% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by China ($X), with a 13% share of total imports. It was followed by Belgium, with a 4.4% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from the Netherlands totaled +22.1%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: China (+19.1% per year) and Belgium (+18.1% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The average pineapple import price stood at $X per ton in 2022, remaining stable against the previous year. In general, import price indicated a tangible expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, pineapple import price increased by +79.0% against 2018 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 53% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the countries with the highest prices were Belgium ($X per ton) and the Netherlands ($X per ton), while the price for Lithuania ($X per ton) and China ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ecuador (+15.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
