For the fourth year in a row, the Russian market for plastic fittings for tubes, pipes and hoses recorded decline in sales value, which decreased by -16.4% to $X in 2021. For the sixth year in a row, Russia recorded growth in overseas shipments of plastic fittings for tubes, pipes and hoses, which increased by 78% to X tons in 2021. Overall, exports enjoyed a significant increase. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, exports of plastic fittings for tubes, pipes and hoses soared to $X in 2021. In general, exports continue to indicate a resilient increase. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Kazakhstan (X tons), Belarus (X tons) and Ukraine (X tons) were the main destinations of exports of plastic fittings for tubes, pipes and hoses from Russia, together comprising 78% of total exports. Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia, Moldova, Armenia and Switzerland lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 16%.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Armenia (with a CAGR of +133.7%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X), Belarus ($X) and Uzbekistan ($X) were the largest markets for plastic fittings for tubes, pipes and hoses exported from Russia worldwide, with a combined 61% share of total exports. In 2021, the average export price for plastic fittings for tubes, pipes and hoses amounted to $X per ton, declining by -20.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a deep reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 a decrease of -3.6% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Kazakhstan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Imports of plastic fittings for tubes, pipes and hoses into Russia expanded significantly to X tons in 2021, picking up by 7% compared with 2020 figures. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a pronounced contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 16% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports of attained the peak figure at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, imports of plastic fittings for tubes, pipes and hoses soared to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, showed a pronounced shrinkage. Over the period under review, imports of hit record highs at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Germany (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 5.9% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from China amounted to -4.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Turkey (-16.9% per year) and Germany (-7.6% per year).

In value terms, China ($X), Germany ($X) and Lithuania ($X) constituted the largest plastic fittings for tubes, pipes and hoses suppliers to Russia, together accounting for 31% of total imports. These countries were followed by Turkey, Poland, the Czech Republic, Italy, Switzerland, Belarus and Ukraine, which together accounted for a further 23%.

Among the main suppliers, Belarus, with a CAGR of +2.4%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.

Import Prices by Country

The average import price for plastic fittings for tubes, pipes and hoses stood at $X per ton in 2021, jumping by 21% against the previous year. Over the last nine years, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.8%. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while the price for Belarus ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
