Italy (X tons) was the main destination for polycarbonate exports from Russia, with a 40% share of total exports. The average polycarbonate export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, shrinking by -17.7% against the previous year. Imports into the Russian Federation
In 2022, the amount of polycarbonates (in primary forms) imported into Russia surged to X tons, picking up by 34% against the previous year. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a deep contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 65%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, polycarbonate imports expanded remarkably to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a abrupt curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 38% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
South Korea (X tons), China (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main suppliers of polycarbonate imports to Russia, together accounting for 66% of total imports. Belgium, Hungary, the Netherlands, Taiwan (Chinese) and Spain lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 27%.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Hungary (with a CAGR of +37.1%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the highest price was recorded for prices from Taiwan (Chinese) ($X per ton) and South Korea ($X per ton), while the price for Belgium ($X per ton) and China ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
