Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2021, and then shrank notably in the following year.
In value terms, reaction initiators and accelerators exports soared to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, enjoyed a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when exports increased by 133%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Exports by Country
Saudi Arabia (X tons), Belarus (X tons) and Turkmenistan (X tons) were the main destinations of reaction initiators and accelerators exports from Russia, with a combined 85% share of total exports. Canada and Kazakhstan lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 11%.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Canada (with a CAGR of +7,554.7%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Saudi Arabia ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for reaction initiators, reaction accelerators and catalytic preparations exports from Russia, comprising 65% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Belarus ($X), with a 7.1% share of total exports. It was followed by Turkmenistan, with a 3.4% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Saudi Arabia amounted to +12.9%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Belarus (+19.6% per year) and Turkmenistan (+16.3% per year).

The average reaction initiators and accelerators export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, jumping by 66% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a pronounced setback. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Saudi Arabia ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Belarus ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+30.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports into the Russian Federation
In 2022, approx. X tons of reaction initiators, reaction accelerators and catalytic preparations were imported into Russia; growing by 9.8% on 2021. In general, total imports indicated a temperate expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports decreased by -7.2% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 58%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, reaction initiators and accelerators imports dropped to $X in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a noticeable increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports decreased by -4.7% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 47% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2022, China (X tons) constituted the largest reaction initiators and accelerators supplier to Russia, accounting for a 38% share of total imports. Moreover, reaction initiators and accelerators imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Uzbekistan (X tons), fourfold. South Korea (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 5.7% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from China stood at +101.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Uzbekistan (+1,321,491.8% per year) and South Korea (+70.8% per year).
In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of reaction initiators, reaction accelerators and catalytic preparations to Russia, comprising 35% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Uzbekistan ($X), with a 10% share of total imports. It was followed by the United States, with an 8.9% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from China stood at +115.1%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Uzbekistan (+1,489,579.6% per year) and the United States (-3.8% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The average reaction initiators and accelerators import price stood at $X per ton in 2022, waning by -10.3% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.3%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average import price increased by 29%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2021 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per ton), while the price for South Korea ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
