The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 106% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.

Kazakhstan (X tons) was the main destination for iron or steel sanitary ware exports from Russia, accounting for a 47% share of total exports. Moreover, iron or steel sanitary ware exports to Kazakhstan exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Belarus (X tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was held by Kyrgyzstan (X tons), with a 9.3% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Kazakhstan stood at -1.1%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Belarus (-2.5% per year) and Kyrgyzstan (+18.0% per year).

In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) remains the key foreign market for sanitary ware and parts of iron or steel exports from Russia, comprising 42% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Germany ($X), with a 15% share of total exports. It was followed by Belarus, with a 14% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to Kazakhstan stood at +4.9%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Germany (+37.2% per year) and Belarus (+0.8% per year).

In 2021, the average export price for sanitary ware and parts of iron or steel amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 29% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated a strong expansion from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.4% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Imports into the Russian Federation

In 2021, iron or steel sanitary ware imports into Russia rose remarkably to X tons, surging by 7.4% compared with 2020 figures. Overall, total imports indicated moderate growth from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.7% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +29.7% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 with an increase of 79% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, iron or steel sanitary ware imports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports posted a strong expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when imports increased by 92%. Imports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

Belarus, Turkey, Spain, Portugal, Poland and Kazakhstan lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 19%.

Portugal, with a CAGR of +31.4%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

In 2021, the average import price for sanitary ware and parts of iron or steel amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 16% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a buoyant increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.3% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, iron or steel sanitary ware import price increased by +75.4% against 2016 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average import price increased by 22%.
