The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when exports increased by 70% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X cubic meters in 2021, and then reduced notably in the following year.
In value terms, sawnwood (non-coniferous) exports contracted rapidly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a prominent expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when exports increased by 73%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2021, and then dropped markedly in the following year.
Exports by Country
China (X cubic meters) was the main destination for sawnwood (non-coniferous) exports from Russia, accounting for a 69% share of total exports. Moreover, sawnwood (non-coniferous) exports to China exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Estonia (X cubic meters), ninefold. Vietnam (X cubic meters) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 6.3% share.

In value terms, China ($X) remains the key foreign market for sawnwood (non-coniferous) exports from Russia, comprising 59% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Estonia ($X), with a 10% share of total exports. It was followed by Vietnam, with an 8.2% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to China stood at +7.2%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Estonia (+28.2% per year) and Vietnam (+49.9% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the average sawnwood (non-coniferous) export price amounted to $X per cubic meter, which is down by -3.1% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated a moderate expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. After two years of growth, overseas purchases of sawnwood (non-coniferous) decreased by -22.8% to X cubic meters in 2022. In general, imports saw a abrupt shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 80% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X cubic meters in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, sawnwood (non-coniferous) imports reduced to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a pronounced contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 99%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Belarus (X cubic meters) constituted the largest sawnwood (non-coniferous) supplier to Russia, accounting for a 41% share of total imports. Moreover, sawnwood (non-coniferous) imports from Belarus exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Lithuania (X cubic meters), twofold. The third position in this ranking was taken by the United States (X cubic meters), with a 19% share.

Lithuania, with a CAGR of +44.3%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The average sawnwood (non-coniferous) import price stood at $X per cubic meter in 2022, increasing by 16% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import price indicated a noticeable expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period.
