The exports peaked at X tons in 2021, and then fell significantly in the following year.

In value terms, cellulose fibrecement sheet exports declined notably to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, posted a prominent expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when exports increased by 118%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2021, and then contracted remarkably in the following year.

Kazakhstan (X tons) was the main destination for cellulose fibrecement sheet exports from Russia, accounting for a 80% share of total exports. Moreover, cellulose fibrecement sheet exports to Kazakhstan exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Georgia (X tons), sixfold.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Kazakhstan totaled +28.2%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Georgia (+74.9% per year) and Belarus (-8.1% per year).

In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) remains the key foreign market for sheets, panels and tiles of cellulose fibrecement exports from Russia, comprising 76% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Georgia ($X), with a 16% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to Kazakhstan totaled +31.6%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Georgia (+100.5% per year) and Belarus (+2.9% per year).

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 86% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2021, and then dropped in the following year.

In value terms, cellulose fibrecement sheet imports contracted to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 87% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.

Imports by Country

In 2022, Japan (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of cellulose fibrecement sheet to Russia, accounting for a 58% share of total imports. Moreover, cellulose fibrecement sheet imports from Japan exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Lithuania (X tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was held by Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons), with a 6.5% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Japan amounted to +17.0%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Lithuania (+68.8% per year) and Belgium (+7.5% per year).

In 2022, the average cellulose fibrecement sheet import price amounted to $X per ton, standing approx. at the previous year. In general, the import price recorded a pronounced slump.
