In value terms, ship propeller exports contracted markedly to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 256% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Belarus (X tons) was the main destination for ship propeller exports from Russia, with a approx. 100% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Belarus amounted to +261.0%.
In value terms, Belarus ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for ships’ or boats’ propellers and blades therefor exports from Russia.

The average ship propeller export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, increasing by 3.5% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a abrupt descent. In 2022, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of ships’ or boats’ propellers and blades therefor, when their volume decreased by -31.5% to X tons. In general, imports, however, saw a prominent increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 229% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2017 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, ship propeller imports contracted rapidly to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, showed a remarkable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 146% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then declined markedly in the following year.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Italy (X tons) constituted the largest ship propeller supplier to Russia, with a 63% share of total imports. Moreover, ship propeller imports from Italy exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Denmark (X tons), threefold. China (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 9.6% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from Italy stood at +72.0%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Denmark (+198.5% per year) and China (+16.2% per year).
In value terms, Italy ($X) constituted the largest supplier of ships’ or boats’ propellers and blades therefor to Russia, comprising 62% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Denmark ($X), with a 15% share of total imports. It was followed by China, with an 8.5% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from Italy totaled +48.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Denmark (+128.0% per year) and China (+9.1% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The average ship propeller import price stood at $X per ton in 2022, increasing by 2.7% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, showed a slight decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when the average import price increased by 33% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2015 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Norway ($X per ton), while the price for Denmark ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Norway (+22.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
