Kazakhstan (X tons) was the main destination for soups exports from Russia, accounting for a 38% share of total exports. Moreover, soups exports to Kazakhstan exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Belarus (X tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Uzbekistan (X tons), with a 7.3% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to Kazakhstan totaled -2.9%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Belarus (+12.2% per year) and Uzbekistan (-2.5% per year).
In value terms, the largest markets for soups exported from Russia were Kazakhstan ($X), Belarus ($X) and Azerbaijan ($X), with a combined 60% share of total exports.
In terms of the main countries of destination, Belarus, with a CAGR of +6.0%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2021, the average soups export price amounted to $X per ton, surging by 8.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a perceptible decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when the average export price increased by 9.8%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2015 to 2021, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Azerbaijan ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Tajikistan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Mongolia (-1.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports into the Russian Federation
In 2021, the amount of soups and broths imported into Russia fell to X tons, with a decrease of -14.7% against the previous year. Overall, total imports indicated a tangible increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.6% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +2.0% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 23%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, soups imports rose significantly to $X in 2021. In general, imports showed a slight decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of 21% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
Ukraine (X tons), Spain (X tons) and Belarus (X tons) were the main suppliers of soups imports to Russia, together accounting for 73% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Belarus (with a CAGR of +53.6%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest soups suppliers to Russia were Spain ($X), Ukraine ($X) and Germany ($X), together accounting for 61% of total imports. These countries were followed by China, Croatia, Belarus, Thailand, Latvia and South Korea, which together accounted for a further 27%.

The average soups import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, increasing by 24% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a deep contraction. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while the price for Latvia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
