In 2021, imports of tapioca and substitutes into Russia shrank to X tons, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous year's figure. In general, imports, however, recorded prominent growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 113%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, tapioca and substitutes imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, posted significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 128%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

Thailand (X tons), Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons) and China (X tons) were the main suppliers of tapioca and substitutes imports to Russia, with a combined 96% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by China (with a CAGR of +89.2%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Thailand ($X), Taiwan (Chinese) ($X) and China ($X) were the largest tapioca and substitutes suppliers to Russia, together accounting for 95% of total imports.
