As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, tomato puree imports amounted to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, showed a perceptible downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 26%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

In 2022, China (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of tomato puree to Russia, accounting for a 60% share of total imports. Moreover, tomato puree imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Italy (X tons), fourfold. The United States (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 6.7% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from China stood at -4.9%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Italy (+10.7% per year) and the United States (+46.7% per year).

In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of tomato puree and paste to Russia, comprising 59% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Italy ($X), with a 19% share of total imports. It was followed by the United States, with a 5.6% share.
