The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports decreased by -26.4% against 2018 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 70% against the previous year. The exports peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, exports of tubes, pipes and hollow profiles (of iron or steel) rose markedly to $X in 2021. In general, exports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when exports increased by 116% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Kazakhstan (X tons), Uzbekistan (X tons) and Belarus (X tons) were the main destinations of exports of tubes, pipes and hollow profiles (of iron or steel) from Russia, with a combined 52% share of total exports. The United States, Egypt, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Estonia, Latvia, Turkmenistan, Poland, Kyrgyzstan and Ukraine lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 32%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Egypt (with a CAGR of +22.7%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X), Uzbekistan ($X) and Belarus ($X) were the largest markets for iron or steel pipe and tube exported from Russia worldwide, together comprising 53% of total exports. The United States, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Ukraine, Estonia, Latvia, Kyrgyzstan and Poland lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 27%.
Egypt, with a CAGR of +17.8%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average export price for tubes, pipes and hollow profiles (of iron or steel) amounted to $X per ton, growing by 15% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a slight decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 27%. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Egypt ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Azerbaijan (+0.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports of tubes, pipes and hollow profiles (of iron or steel) into Russia shrank to X tons in 2021, which is down by -11.5% compared with the previous year's figure. In general, imports recorded a deep downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 42% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, imports of tubes, pipes and hollow profiles (of iron or steel) dropped to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports recorded a abrupt slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 43% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Kazakhstan (X tons), China (X tons) and Belarus (X tons) were the main suppliers of imports of tubes, pipes and hollow profiles (of iron or steel) to Russia, together accounting for 70% of total imports. Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Italy, Germany, Lithuania, South Korea, Japan and Austria lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 21%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Lithuania (with a CAGR of +36.8%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of tubes, pipes and hollow profiles (of iron or steel) to Russia, comprising 31% of total imports.
