In value terms, non-mineral or non-aerated water exports shrank to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, enjoyed resilient growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when exports increased by 69%. The exports peaked at $X in 2020, and then contracted in the following year.
Exports by Country
Belarus (X litres) was the main destination for non-mineral or non-aerated water exports from Russia, with a 58% share of total exports. Moreover, non-mineral or non-aerated water exports to Belarus exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Kazakhstan (X litres), fourfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by China (X litres), with a 12% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to Belarus amounted to +44.2%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Kazakhstan (-6.1% per year) and China (+30.3% per year).
In value terms, the largest markets for non-mineral or non-aerated water exported from Russia were Belarus ($X), Kazakhstan ($X) and the United States ($X), with a combined 81% share of total exports. These countries were followed by China, Ukraine, South Korea and Japan, which together accounted for a further 12%.
In terms of the main countries of destination, Japan, with a CAGR of +100.9%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average non-mineral or non-aerated water export price amounted to $X per litre, stabilizing at the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a prominent increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when the average export price increased by 40% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $X per litre in 2020, and then reduced slightly in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per litre), while the average price for exports to South Korea ($X per litre) was amongst the lowest.

Non-mineral or non-aerated water imports into Russia soared to X litres in 2021, increasing by 29% compared with the previous year's figure. Overall, imports showed a strong expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 57% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
