In value terms, vinegar-preserved vegetable exports fell to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, showed a buoyant increase. Kazakhstan (X tons) was the main destination for vinegar-preserved vegetable exports from Russia, accounting for a 49% share of total exports. Moreover, vinegar-preserved vegetable exports to Kazakhstan exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Belarus (X tons), threefold. Israel (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 12% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to Kazakhstan totaled +19.4%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Belarus (+33.3% per year) and Israel (+41.6% per year).

In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) remains the key foreign market for vegetables in vinegar other than potatoes exports from Russia, comprising 48% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Belarus ($X), with a 19% share of total exports. It was followed by Israel, with an 11% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to Kazakhstan stood at +16.4%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Belarus (+28.0% per year) and Israel (+35.9% per year).

Export Prices by Country

In 2022, the average vinegar-preserved vegetable export price amounted to $X per ton, approximately reflecting the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a deep downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when the average export price increased by 7.7%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, approx. X tons of vegetables in vinegar other than potatoes were imported into Russia; with a decrease of -5.1% compared with the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a perceptible curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 24%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, vinegar-preserved vegetable imports fell to $X in 2022. Overall, imports continue to indicate a perceptible decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 26%. Imports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, China (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of vinegar-preserved vegetable to Russia, accounting for a 40% share of total imports. Moreover, vinegar-preserved vegetable imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Germany (X tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was held by Belarus (X tons), with a 12% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from China totaled +4.1%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Germany (+10.3% per year) and Belarus (+28.3% per year).

In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of vegetables in vinegar other than potatoes to Russia, comprising 38% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Belarus ($X), with a 14% share of total imports. It was followed by India, with a 9.7% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from China amounted to +3.7%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Belarus (+34.1% per year) and India (-8.7% per year).

The average vinegar-preserved vegetable import price stood at $X per ton in 2022, with a decrease of -5.5% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.0%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 13% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per ton, and then shrank in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Belarus ($X per ton), while the price for Germany ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
