Imports into the Russian Federation
After two years of growth, purchases abroad of vices and clamps decreased by -9.3% to X tons in 2022. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 40%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.
In value terms, vices and clamps imports reduced to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 47% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2021, and then dropped in the following year.

In 2022, China (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of vices and clamps to Russia, accounting for a 74% share of total imports. Moreover, vices and clamps imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Germany (X tons), sixfold. The third position in this ranking was held by India (X tons), with a 5.6% share.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Taiwan (Chinese) ($X per ton), while the price for Belarus ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
