In 2022, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in the SADC butter and ghee market, when its value decreased by X% to $X. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

South Africa dominates exports structure, amounting to X tons, which was approx. X% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Angola (X tons), achieving a X% share of total exports. The following exporters - Mauritius (X tons) and Namibia (X tons) - each reached a X% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to butter and ghee exports from South Africa stood at X%. At the same time, Mauritius (X%), Angola (X%) and Namibia (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Mauritius emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in SADC, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022.
