At the same time, Seychelles (+34.3%), Democratic Republic of the Congo (+21.0%), Mauritius (+18.1%), Angola (+5.7%) and Zambia (+4.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Seychelles emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in SADC, with a CAGR of +34.3% from 2012-2021. Mozambique experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Namibia (-3.2%) and Zimbabwe (-3.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. South Africa (+11 p.p.), Mauritius (+2.3 p.p.) and Seychelles (+1.5 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Angola, Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Namibia saw its share reduced by -1.7%, -2%, -4.3% and -6.4% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
