In 2022, South Africa (X units) was the key exporter of chromatographs and electrophoresis instruments, creating 66% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Swaziland (X units), creating a 27% share of total exports. Angola (X units) held a relatively small share of total exports.

Exports from South Africa increased at an average annual rate of +21.7% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Swaziland (+29.9%) and Angola (+8.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in South Africa amounted to +16.5%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Swaziland (+1.7% per year) and Angola (+19.7% per year).

In 2022, the export price in SADC amounted to $X per unit, surging by 19% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a abrupt shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when the export price increased by 378% against the previous year.
