South Africa represented the main exporting country with an export of about X units, which recorded 59% of total exports. Angola (X units) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a 17% share, followed by Namibia (7.8%), Mozambique (5.9%) and Malawi (4.9%). Mauritius (X units) took a minor share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to civil reaction engine exports from South Africa stood at -18.4%. At the same time, Malawi (+29.2%), Angola (+23.7%) and Mauritius (+3.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Malawi emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in SADC, with a CAGR of +29.2% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Mozambique (-19.1%) and Namibia (-22.7%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. In value terms, South Africa ($X) remains the largest civil reaction engine supplier in SADC, comprising 59% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Angola ($X), with a 21% share of total exports. It was followed by Namibia, with an 8.9% share.
In South Africa, civil reaction engine exports contracted by an average annual rate of -16.0% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Angola (+14.4% per year) and Namibia (-30.3% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in SADC stood at $X per unit in 2021, waning by -6.9% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 82% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Angola ($X per unit), while Mozambique ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Mauritius (+17.0%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

Imports in SADC
In 2021, approx. X units of civil reaction engines were imported in SADC; waning by -86.6% compared with 2020. In general, imports recorded a precipitous descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 4,311% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, civil reaction engine imports fell remarkably to $X in 2021. Overall, imports saw a sharp descent. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 733%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
