Moreover, Zimbabwe emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in SADC, with a CAGR of +11.4% from 2012-2021. From 2012 to 2021, the share of South Africa decreased by -1.7 percentage points, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, South Africa ($X) remains the largest concentrated lemon and other citrus fruit juice supplier in SADC, comprising 98% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Zimbabwe ($X), with a 1.5% share of total exports.

Imports in SADC

In 2021, approx. X tons of concentrated lemon and other citrus fruit juice were imported in SADC; which is down by -7.3% against the previous year's figure. Total imports indicated a prominent increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.5% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 75%. In value terms, Malawi ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported concentrated lemon and other citrus fruit juice in SADC, comprising 37% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Namibia ($X), with a 16% share of total imports. It was followed by Botswana, with a 9% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Malawi totaled +29.7%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Namibia (-5.2% per year) and Botswana (+123.4% per year).

Import Prices by Country
