From 2019 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
South Africa represented the largest exporter of industrial, laboratory or bakery ovens in SADC, with the volume of exports finishing at X units, which was near 65% of total exports in 2022. Mozambique (X units) held a 29% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Namibia (4.8%).
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to industrial, laboratory or bakery oven exports from South Africa stood at +20.9%. From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in South Africa was relatively modest. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Namibia (+42.7% per year) and Mozambique (+16.5% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in SADC stood at $X per unit in 2022, declining by -46% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw a abrupt contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when the export price increased by 277% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Namibia ($X per unit), while Mozambique ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Namibia (+15.4%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.
Imports of Industrial, Laboratory or Bakery Ovens
Imports in SADC
In 2022, approx. X units of industrial, laboratory or bakery ovens were imported in SADC; declining by -3.8% against the year before. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a tangible increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 179%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, industrial, laboratory or bakery oven imports declined markedly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw a noticeable descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 47%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2022, South Africa (X units) and Mozambique (X units) represented the major importers of industrial, laboratory or bakery ovens in SADC, together finishing at approx. 69% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Tanzania (X units), generating a 12% share of total imports.
