Imports in SADC

In 2021, imports of frozen crabs and crabs meat in SADC reduced dramatically to X tons, shrinking by -34.8% on the previous year. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 69% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, Namibia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported frozen crabs and crabs meat in SADC, comprising 59% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by South Africa ($X), with a 27% share of total imports. It was followed by Mauritius, with a 6.8% share.
