As a result, production attained the peak level of $X, and then shrank markedly in the following year.

In 2021, exports of furnace burners for liquid fuel in SADC surged to X tons, rising by 17% on the previous year. In general, exports, however, faced a drastic downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 65%. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, liquid fuel furnace burner exports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a abrupt descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 83%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

South Africa prevails in exports structure, recording X tons, which was approx. 91% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Mozambique (X tons), constituting a 7% share of total exports.

Exports from South Africa decreased at an average annual rate of -11.2% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Mozambique (+42.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Mozambique emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in SADC, with a CAGR of +42.7% from 2012-2021. Mozambique (+6.9 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while South Africa saw its share reduced by -3.2% from 2012 to 2021, respectively.

In value terms, South Africa ($X) remains the largest liquid fuel furnace burner supplier in SADC, comprising 79% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Mozambique ($X), with a 16% share of total exports.

In South Africa, liquid fuel furnace burner exports declined by an average annual rate of -12.6% over the period from 2012-2021.

Export Prices by Country

In 2021, the export price in SADC amounted to $X per ton, surging by 34% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the export price increased by 94%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2019 to 2021, the export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Mozambique ($X per ton), while South Africa stood at $X per ton.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Africa (-1.6%).

Imports in SADC

In 2021, the amount of furnace burners for liquid fuel imported in SADC rose notably to X tons, picking up by 9.7% on 2020. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 with an increase of 67%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, liquid fuel furnace burner imports fell significantly to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, recorded a noticeable slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 151%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

South Africa (X tons) and Angola (X tons) represented the key importers of furnace burners for liquid fuel in 2021, resulting at near 36% and 24% of total imports, respectively. Democratic Republic of the Congo (X tons) took an 11% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Tanzania (6.9%) and Mozambique (6.5%). The following importers - Mauritius (X tons) and Namibia (X tons) - each accounted for a 6.8% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by Mauritius (with a CAGR of +25.3%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, South Africa ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported furnace burners for liquid fuel in SADC, comprising 42% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Angola ($X), with a 16% share of total imports. It was followed by Mozambique, with a 10% share.

In South Africa, liquid fuel furnace burner imports shrank by an average annual rate of -10.3% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Angola (-3.5% per year) and Mozambique (+10.0% per year).

Import Prices by Country

The import price in SADC stood at $X per ton in 2021, falling by -29.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed pronounced growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 51% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2020, and then dropped remarkably in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Mauritius ($X per ton), while Tanzania ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
