Democratic Republic of the Congo (X units) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 22% share, followed by Angola (14%) and Tanzania (10%). Zambia (X units), Madagascar (X units) and Zimbabwe (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Democratic Republic of the Congo (with a CAGR of +31.0%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, South Africa ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported heat exchange units in SADC, comprising 51% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Angola ($X), with a 14% share of total imports. It was followed by Democratic Republic of the Congo, with an 8.6% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in South Africa amounted to -1.2%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Angola (+2.9% per year) and Democratic Republic of the Congo (+14.2% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The import price in SADC stood at $X per unit in 2022, reducing by -11.4% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, posted a resilient expansion.
