In value terms, South Africa ($X) remains the largest hydrogen chloride supplier in SADC, comprising 97% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Angola ($X), with a 0.9% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in South Africa stood at -5.4%.

While the share of South Africa (+63 p.p.) and Namibia (+1.6 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Democratic Republic of the Congo (-2.3 p.p.), Mauritius (-5.2 p.p.), Zimbabwe (-11 p.p.), Angola (-14 p.p.) and Tanzania (-23.1 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In value terms, South Africa ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported hydrogen chloride (hydrochloric acid) in SADC, comprising 56% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Angola ($X), with a 7.5% share of total imports. It was followed by Tanzania, with a 5.7% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in South Africa totaled +38.7%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Angola (-4.5% per year) and Tanzania (-1.0% per year).
