From 2019 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, maize bran exports surged to $X in 2022. Total exports indicated a buoyant increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. Exports by Country
Zambia was the major exporting country with an export of around X tons, which finished at X% of total exports. Malawi (X tons) took an X% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Botswana (X%), Mozambique (X%) and Lesotho (X%). The following exporters - Tanzania (X tons) and Namibia (X tons) - together made up X% of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to maize bran exports from Zambia stood at X%. At the same time, Namibia (X%), Tanzania (X%), Mozambique (X%), Malawi (X%) and Botswana (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Namibia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in SADC, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Lesotho (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Zambia (X p.p.), Malawi (X p.p.), Mozambique (X p.p.), Botswana (X p.p.), Tanzania (X p.p.) and Namibia (X p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of Lesotho (X p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.
In value terms, Zambia ($X) remains the largest maize bran supplier in SADC, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Botswana ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by Mozambique, with a X% share.
In Zambia, maize bran exports expanded at an average annual rate of X% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Botswana (X% per year) and Mozambique (X% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the export price in SADC amounted to $X per ton, increasing by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a mild reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when the export price increased by X%. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

In 2022, the amount of maize bran imported in SADC soared to X tons, jumping by X% compared with the year before. Overall, imports continue to indicate a remarkable increase. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, maize bran imports soared to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports showed a buoyant increase. In 2022, South Africa (X tons) was the largest importer of maize bran, creating X% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Namibia (X tons) and Botswana (X tons), together mixing up a X% share of total imports.
