In value terms, milk exports declined to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports saw a mild slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of X%. The level of export peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
South Africa prevails in exports structure, finishing at X tons, which was near X% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Zambia (X tons), generating a X% share of total exports.
South Africa experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of exports of milk. At the same time, Zambia (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Zambia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in SADC, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. At the same time, Mozambique (X%), Seychelles (X%), Democratic Republic of the Congo (X%), Swaziland (X%) and Namibia (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Mozambique emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in SADC, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. Lesotho experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Angola (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period.
