In value terms, non-electric roasting furnace exports shrank notably to $X in 2022. In general, exports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 448% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

South Africa (X units) represented roughly 99% of total exports in 2022.

South Africa was also the fastest-growing in terms of the non-electric furnaces and ovens for the roasting or melting exports, with a CAGR of +13.6% from 2012 to 2022. In value terms, non-electric roasting furnace imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 156% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

In 2022, Zimbabwe (X units), distantly followed by Tanzania (X units), South Africa (X units), Zambia (X units) and Mozambique (X units) represented the largest importers of non-electric furnaces and ovens for the roasting or melting, together achieving 93% of total imports. The following importers - Madagascar (X units) and Mauritius (X units) - each reached a 4.6% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Tanzania (with a CAGR of +38.6%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
