The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 415%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 23%. South Africa was the main importing country with an import of around X tons, which resulted at 80% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Mauritius (X tons), creating an 11% share of total imports. Zambia (X tons) and Tanzania (X tons) took a little share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to palmitic acid, stearic acid, their salts and esters imports into South Africa stood at +3.8%. At the same time, Mauritius (+50.0%) and Tanzania (+7.5%) displayed positive paces of growth.
