In value terms, boiler parts exports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports faced a deep setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 39%. The level of export peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Exports by Country
South Africa (X tons) represented roughly 98% of total exports in 2021.
South Africa was also the fastest-growing in terms of the parts of boilers for central heating exports, with a CAGR of -24.9% from 2012 to 2021. The shares of the largest exporters remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, South Africa ($X) also remains the largest boiler parts supplier in SADC.
In South Africa, boiler parts exports decreased by an average annual rate of -13.8% over the period from 2012-2021.
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in SADC amounted to $X per ton, jumping by 121% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a buoyant increase. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for South Africa.
From 2012 to 2021, the rate of growth in terms of prices for South Africa amounted to +14.7% per year.

Imports in SADC
After two years of growth, purchases abroad of parts of boilers for central heating decreased by -38.1% to X tons in 2021. In general, imports saw a pronounced slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 134% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, boiler parts imports reduced markedly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports saw a deep setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when imports increased by 85% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
Democratic Republic of the Congo (X tons) and South Africa (X tons) were the major importers of parts of boilers for central heating in 2021, recording near 27% and 25% of total imports, respectively. Botswana (X tons) held the next position in the ranking, followed by Swaziland (X tons) and Lesotho (X tons). All these countries together took near 27% share of total imports. The following importers - Zambia (X tons), Namibia (X tons), Mozambique (X tons), Zimbabwe (X tons), Mauritius (X tons) and Malawi (X tons) - together made up 19% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by Namibia (with a CAGR of +33.7%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest boiler parts importing markets in SADC were Botswana ($X), South Africa ($X) and Democratic Republic of the Congo ($X), together accounting for 58% of total imports. These countries were followed by Mauritius, Namibia, Swaziland, Mozambique, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho and Malawi, which together accounted for a further 39%.
Namibia, with a CAGR of +35.5%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in SADC amounted to $X per ton, dropping by -7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a slight curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 27%. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Mauritius ($X per ton), while Lesotho ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Zambia (+3.1%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
