South Africa prevails in exports structure, reaching X units, which was approx. 92% of total exports in 2021. The following exporters - Tanzania (X units), Namibia (X units) and Democratic Republic of the Congo (X units) - each recorded a 5.1% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to parts of harvester and threshers exports from South Africa stood at -4.3%. At the same time, Tanzania (+75.8%), Namibia (+63.7%) and Democratic Republic of the Congo (+47.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Tanzania emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in SADC, with a CAGR of +75.8% from 2012-2021. While the share of Tanzania (+2 p.p.) and Namibia (+1.6 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of South Africa (-6.1 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in South Africa totaled -2.5%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Democratic Republic of the Congo (+70.0% per year) and Namibia (+57.7% per year).

In 2021, the export price in SADC amounted to $X per unit, reducing by -16.4% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.7%. Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Democratic Republic of the Congo ($X per unit), while Tanzania ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

By contrast, Tanzania (-1.1%) and Mozambique (-3.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Zimbabwe (+5 p.p.) and Namibia (+2.4 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of South Africa (-7.6 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in South Africa was relatively modest. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Zimbabwe (+19.1% per year) and Angola (-3.6% per year).

The import price in SADC stood at $X per unit in 2021, surging by 8.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 an increase of 9.5% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2020 to 2021, the import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Mozambique ($X per unit), while Namibia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
