South Africa was the largest importing country with an import of around X units, which resulted at 54% of total imports. Zimbabwe (+13 p.p.), Zambia (+2.8 p.p.) and Mozambique (+1.9 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Angola, Tanzania and South Africa saw its share reduced by -1.6%, -7.2% and -9.4% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, South Africa ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported printers, copying machines and facsimile machines in SADC, comprising 63% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Zimbabwe ($X), with a 9.5% share of total imports. It was followed by Angola, with a 7.9% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in South Africa stood at -8.2%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Zimbabwe (+2.4% per year) and Angola (-11.7% per year).
