Liquid dispensing pump imports contracted to X units in 2021, leveling off at the previous year's figure. In general, imports showed a deep contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 46% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X units in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, liquid dispensing pump imports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 37% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

South Africa represented the largest importer of pumps for dispensing liquids in SADC, with the volume of imports accounting for X units, which was approx. 35% of total imports in 2021. Tanzania (X units) took a 19% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Angola (16%), Zimbabwe (15%) and Zambia (4.9%). The following importers - Mauritius (X units), Lesotho (X units) and Democratic Republic of the Congo (X units) - each amounted to a 5.9% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for South Africa (with a CAGR of +20.6%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, South Africa ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported pumps for dispensing liquids in SADC, comprising 40% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Tanzania ($X), with a 15% share of total imports. It was followed by Angola, with an 11% share.

In South Africa, liquid dispensing pump imports increased at an average annual rate of +9.5% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Tanzania (+8.1% per year) and Angola (-9.1% per year).

Import Prices by Country
