The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 6,392%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

Mozambique was the largest importing country with an import of around X tons, which accounted for 85% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Democratic Republic of the Congo (X tons), making up a 14% share of total imports.

From 2016 to 2021, the import prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Democratic Republic of the Congo ($X per ton), while Mozambique amounted to $X per ton.
