The following exporters - Democratic Republic of the Congo (X cubic meters) and Madagascar (X cubic meters) - each accounted for a X% share of total exports.

In 2022, the amount of sawnwood imported in SADC shrank sharply to X cubic meters, reducing by X% against the previous year. Overall, imports showed a deep slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X cubic meters in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, sawnwood imports declined to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. Imports by Country

South Africa was the major importer of sawnwood in SADC, with the volume of imports resulting at X cubic meters, which was approx. X% of total imports in 2022. Mauritius (X cubic meters) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Botswana (X cubic meters), Mozambique (X cubic meters) and Namibia (X cubic meters). All these countries together took near X% share of total imports. The following importers - Tanzania (X cubic meters) and Seychelles (X cubic meters) - each finished at a X% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to sawnwood imports into South Africa stood at X%. At the same time, Namibia (X%), Tanzania (X%), Botswana (X%) and Seychelles (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Namibia emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in SADC, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. Mauritius experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Mozambique (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Botswana (X p.p.), Mauritius (X p.p.), Namibia (X p.p.), Tanzania (X p.p.) and Seychelles (X p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Mozambique and South Africa saw its share reduced by X% and X% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.

In value terms, South Africa ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported sawnwood in SADC, comprising X% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Botswana ($X), with an X% share of total imports. It was followed by Mauritius, with a X% share.
