In South Africa, scrapers excavator exports plunged by an average annual rate of -7.2% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Tanzania (+29.4% per year) and Democratic Republic of the Congo (+18.0% per year).

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 87%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

South Africa (X units) and Botswana (X units) represented roughly 57% of total imports in 2022.
