Exports by Country
South Africa dominates exports structure, resulting at X tons, which was near X% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Zambia (X tons), generating an X% share of total exports. Tanzania (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to silicon exports from South Africa stood at X%. At the same time, Zambia (X%) and Tanzania (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Zambia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in SADC, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. While the share of Zambia (X p.p.) and Tanzania (X p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of South Africa (X p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

South Africa dominates imports structure, recording X tons, which was approx. X% of total imports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Mozambique (X tons), achieving a X% share of total imports. Angola (X tons), Swaziland (X tons), Tanzania (X tons), Mauritius (X tons) and Zambia (X tons) held a minor share of total imports.
Imports into South Africa increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Swaziland (X%), Mozambique (X%), Zambia (X%) and Mauritius (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Swaziland emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in SADC, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Angola (X%) and Tanzania (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Mozambique (X p.p.), South Africa (X p.p.) and Swaziland (X p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Tanzania and Angola saw its share reduced by X% and X% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
