South Africa prevails in exports structure, accounting for X units, which was approx. 70% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Botswana (X units), committing a 6.9% share of total exports. The following exporters - Tanzania (X units), Zambia (X units), Mozambique (X units), Namibia (X units), Angola (X units), Malawi (X units) and Zimbabwe (X units) - together made up 20% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to wheeled dozer exports from South Africa stood at -18.1%. At the same time, Zambia (+4.1%) and Zimbabwe (+2.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Zambia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in SADC, with a CAGR of +4.1% from 2012-2022. Botswana and Angola experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, South Africa ($X) remains the largest wheeled dozer supplier in SADC, comprising 86% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Botswana ($X), with a 6.5% share of total exports. It was followed by Tanzania, with a 1.8% share.

In South Africa, wheeled dozer exports shrank by an average annual rate of -11.0% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Botswana (+3.2% per year) and Tanzania (-9.1% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The export price in SADC stood at $X per unit in 2022, surging by 41% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a buoyant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 an increase of 86%. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the maximum in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was South Africa ($X per unit), while Malawi ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

South Africa (X units) and Tanzania (X units) represented the main importers of wheeled dozers in 2022, amounting to approx. 35% and 31% of total imports, respectively. Zimbabwe (X units) ranks next in terms of the total imports with a 7.8% share, followed by Mozambique (5.1%). The following importers - Lesotho (X units), Zambia (X units), Democratic Republic of the Congo (X units), Swaziland (X units), Angola (X units) and Malawi (X units) - together made up 15% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Tanzania (with a CAGR of +1.7%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.

In value terms, the largest wheeled dozer importing markets in SADC were Tanzania ($X), South Africa ($X) and Zimbabwe ($X), together comprising 72% of total imports. Mozambique, Lesotho, Swaziland, Zambia, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Malawi and Angola lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 21%.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the import price increased by 52%. Over the period under review, import prices reached the maximum at $X per unit in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Zimbabwe ($X per unit), while Angola ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
