From 2018 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, synthetic yarn exports contracted to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports recorded a pronounced downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Exports by Country
Mauritius was the largest exporting country with an export of around X tons, which finished at X% of total exports. South Africa (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a X% share, followed by Lesotho (X%). Zambia (X tons), Angola (X tons), Madagascar (X tons) and Botswana (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Exports from Mauritius increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Angola (X%), Lesotho (X%) and Madagascar (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Angola emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in SADC, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. By contrast, South Africa (X%), Botswana (X%) and Zambia (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Mauritius (X p.p.), Lesotho (X p.p.), Angola (X p.p.) and Madagascar (X p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of Botswana (X p.p.), South Africa (X p.p.) and Zambia (X p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.
In value terms, Mauritius ($X) remains the largest synthetic yarn supplier in SADC, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by South Africa ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by Lesotho, with an X% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Mauritius was relatively modest. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: South Africa (X% per year) and Lesotho (X% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in SADC stood at $X per ton in 2022, growing by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a pronounced reduction.
