Imports into Saudi Arabia
In 2022, the amount of lettuce and chicory imported into Saudi Arabia reduced to X tons, which is down by -7.8% compared with the previous year. Overall, imports, however, posted buoyant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when imports increased by 103% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, lettuce and chicory imports dropped slightly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded strong growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 55%.
