Jordan (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 13% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Egypt amounted to +1.0%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the United States (+3.1% per year) and Jordan (+46.8% per year).

In value terms, the United States ($X) constituted the largest supplier of strawberries to Saudi Arabia, comprising 56% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Egypt ($X), with a 21% share of total imports. It was followed by Mexico, with a 6.8% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from the United States amounted to +17.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Egypt (-6.1% per year) and Mexico (+53.0% per year).

Import Prices by Country

The average strawberry import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, leveling off at the previous year. In general, import price indicated notable growth from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.9% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, strawberry import price increased by +8.9% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 an increase of 29%.
