In value terms, accordion exports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a remarkable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 182%. The level of export peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Denmark (X units) and Sweden (X units) dominates exports structure, together making up 91% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Norway (X units), achieving a 6.5% share of total exports. Finland (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main exporting countries, was attained by Denmark (with a CAGR of +14.1%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.

In value terms, Sweden ($X) remains the largest accordion supplier in Scandinavia, comprising 62% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Denmark ($X), with a 24% share of total exports. It was followed by Norway, with an 8.1% share.

In Sweden, accordion exports increased at an average annual rate of +16.6% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Denmark (+20.6% per year) and Norway (+20.1% per year).

The export price in Scandinavia stood at $X per unit in 2021, growing by 42% against the previous year. Overall, the export price saw a buoyant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 26% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. Norway (X units) and Sweden (X units) represented roughly 75% of total imports in 2021. Denmark (X units) ranks next in terms of the total imports with a 15% share, followed by Finland (8.1%).

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Sweden (with a CAGR of -0.8%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced a decline in the imports figures.

In value terms, the largest accordion importing markets in Scandinavia were Norway ($X), Sweden ($X) and Finland ($X), together comprising 85% of total imports. Denmark lagged somewhat behind, comprising a further 13%.

Among the main importing countries, Denmark, with a CAGR of +3.6%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the import price increased by 41% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices reached the maximum at $X per unit in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
