In 2021, the export price in Scandinavia amounted to $X per kg, jumping by 33% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a pronounced decline. The level of export peaked at $X per kg in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Denmark ($X per kg), while Finland ($X per kg) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Sweden (+4.5%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

In 2021, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in supplies from abroad of antisera and other blood fractions, when their volume increased by 10% to X tons. In general, imports posted a strong increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when imports increased by 66% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, antisera imports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, imports showed a resilient expansion. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In 2021, Denmark (X tons) was the major importer of antisera and other blood fractions, creating 70% of total imports. Sweden (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Norway (X tons). All these countries together took near 27% share of total imports. Finland (X tons) held a minor share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to antisera imports into Denmark stood at +6.3%. At the same time, Norway (+14.8%), Finland (+10.9%) and Sweden (+2.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. The import price in Scandinavia stood at $X per ton in 2021, growing by 5.5% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.3%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when the import price increased by 21%. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Finland ($X per ton), while Denmark ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
